Color Me Fantabulous

This weeks Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Me Monday #49 challenge is to make a shaped card.  I have never made a shape card-- until today!
I love using my Gypsy.  I used it all the time before I really learned all of the functions of the Cricut.  Since I've become more comfortable with my Expression, over the last month, my poor little Gypsy hasn't seen any action.  I think I heard little Gyp sing a happy song when I took her out of the box today.
I am always looking for a way to use my  Inkadinkado "Kid's Quotes" stamp set (since it is one of my favorites), and I am always looking for a way to use my Forever Young cartridge (also one of my favorites).
So....Put them all together and this is what you get!

Thanks for stopping by and for all of the encouraging comments!

Really-- I am NOT boring.

I am so new to this blogging thing.
I looked at all of the posts I've made, and they all have one thing in common.

They're pretty stinkin' BORING!

The pictures are kind of cute, but the content lacks.....Bling.  :)  I am not as boring as this blog makes me out to be.  No one said I was boring (well, my kids do sometimes), but I felt like the content of this blog was.  So I thought- "This is my corner of the world, and I am going for a re-do."

When I started this, I had no idea what I wanted to do.  I enjoy looking at all of the other craft blogs and sites out there, and I love doing crafts myself.  Crafts however, are only a part of who I am.
I am also a wife, a mother, a friend, a Christian, a  full time employee (I have the best job ever!), and a pet owner.  Around the house, I am a cook, a baker, a housekkeeper (kind of), a teacher, a makeshift doctor (band-aids), a (not very good) handyman, a chauffeur, an accountant, a couch potato, a fashion consultant (to 9 year old girls), a bank (to 9 year old girls- again), a referee (girls!), and many other things.

And now I am a blogger too.
Since this is my corner (of my world), I need to incorporate all of me into it.  The main focus of this will be my crafts- since that is my latest (and greatest) obsession of the moment.  Occasionally I may talk about one, or two, or all of the rest of the parts that make up Me- Fabulous, NON-boring, Blingy Me!  (No, I am not conceited, I've just learned to really like myself over the last year)
.
I made a card today- to celebrate Me.
"Why", you ask?  My answer- "Because I can".

Now, if anyone is actually still reading this (which I hope you are), I want to do a Giveaway once I reach 50 Followers.  I want to give someone (at random) my favorite crafting tool.  It's actually how I came up with the awesome name of my blog.  Everything IS a better with a little bit of bling- so...... I want to give away an Imaginisce I-Rock.

So please, tell all your friends.  This is going to be fun!!

To be continued......

A Challenge

Dina at Crazy for Cricut is having her first challenge.
The challenge is to make any card, as long as you use a Cricut.
This is an easy challenge for me since I LOVE my Cricut.

I used From My Kitchen for the glass and the circle (for the sentiment).
The stamp is from the Just 4 Men set from Pink by Design.
(Sarah from Pink by Design is having an incredible giveaway, so if you haven't already- make sure to go to her store site and check it out!)

Thanks for stopping by!

Emboss It Challenge

There are a couple of challenges this week centered around embossing.  I have a Sizzix Texture Boutique, which I LOVE (it looks like a cute purse!).

I am entering Creative Sisters Monday Challenge at http://lindascreativity.blogspot.com/ and
Challenge #48 Emboss it at  http://fantabulouscricut.blogspot.com/

I made a sweet little card that can be used for just about any occasion.

I used a Sizzix embossing folder for the background flowers (Cuttlebug folders also work in the Sizzix).
The image is from Kate's ABCs.  This is such a fun cartridge with lots of layers.  I have a 6 month old black kitten, so when I saw this image, I had to do something with it!
I stamped it with Inkadinkado "Kid's Quotes" (which are adorable!)
The ribbon is from Michaels, and the jewels were done with the fabulous I-Rock.

Thanks for looking!!

First attempt with Vinyl

I got a new cartridge this weekend called Car Decals.  (I fell in love with the little cricut on the front.)

I placed an order with www.cricutmachine.com.  I love this site!  This is the third time I have ordered from them.  Everything is very affordable and it is shipped out very fast!  I ordered on Thursday and received it Saturday!  Along with the cartridge, I ordered some white vinyl.  (I also found transfer tape yesterday at Target, on clearance for $4.00!)  This was my first attempt with the vinyl, and it was surprisingly easy.  I followed the instructions and cut at a blade depth of 6 and pressure of 2- this way it cuts through the vinyl but keeps the backing intact.

I cut this little guy at 4".
Unfortunately it's too cold outside to put him on my car, so as soon as it warms up-
he's going out with the rest of the family!

Cricut Cardz Challenge

This is for the Cricut Cardz Challenge site, which was: For Challenge #62 we’d like to see your cards using a cup image from any cartridge. You may use any colors you’d like.

I used the Graphically Speaking cartridge for the cup, yellow background, and the circle "good".  It is an A2 sized card.  The cup is cut at 2 3/4" and both background pieces are cut at 4".  I finished it by stamping the sentiment and little flower (on the cup), and using Gelly Roll pens for accents.  Hope you like it!

All About Spring Challenge

Cardz TV with Mary (http://cardztv.blogspot.com/2011/02/all-about-spring-challenge.html) is having a challenge to make a Spring themed card.
I made this card using some cardstock from Michael's, Prima flowers and Recollections brads.  I had some leftover ribbon that matched, so I put it across the bottom.  Somehow everything worked together and here is what I came up with.   :)

Someday I'll write down exactly how I make things- with measurements and everything.  Wow- how organized would that be!?!

Happy Valentine's Day

I also gave them the cards and gifts that I made for them.

The little cards were done with the Create a Critter cartridge.  I used the Zutter Bind It All to make the notebooks (my first attempt with the BIA).  Avery's notebook was blinged out with the Forever Young cart. and the I Rock, and Mackenzie's was done with Twinkle Toes (music notes) and Rock Princess (stars)-- and of course the I Rock!
They LOVED their books (which made me very happy)!

My Pink Stamper Blog Hop

I am playing along with My Pink Stamper tonight.
The challenge is to make a project with Black and your favorite color or colors-  I chose Green, Red, Pink, and Silver.
It is an A2 size card and all of the cuts are from the Forever Young cartridge.  I used Gelly Roll glitter gel pens to add some extra bling.
Hope you like!

My First Challenge

I have been following Inking It Up Crazy for a while and have been inspired by Kassidy.  She is having a Birthday Card challenge so I thought- "why not join in?".
I made this quick card in about 10 minutes with paper scraps and ribbon left over from other projects.  I stamped the Happy Birthday and Cheers and colored them in with some photo markers.
Turned out pretty cute!

Valentines Day

I am making treat holders for my daughter's Valentine's Day party at school.  Something very simple- since there are 24 to make!

Recipe
Sweet Treat Cupcake Wrapper cut at 4 1/2 inches
Plantain Schoolbook Heart cut at 2 inches
Cut handles from left over paper and put it all together.

Craft Room Clock

I "blinged" up my $4.00 clock today.  It turned out really cute.
I used the Graphically Speaking cartridge to cut the jumbled "Time" and Gelly Roll dotted the numbers.  Each number also got I-Rocked.  Love the I-Rock!
My new clock hangs in my craft room so now I have no excuse to lose track of time!
