I'm so excited for Halloween and it's a whole month away!
Today I am a Guest Designer at Crafty Sprouts! Erika is having a challenge for the next 2 weeks.
The challenge is to use Black, Red, and Slimey Green on your project.
Who woulda thought that this color combo could rock out a Halloween card.
The Sentiment is from Crafty Sprouts: Besties for Life
The stamped images are from Creative Memories
The ribbon is from 3 Girl JAM (I cut and frayed it!)
Go get your color on and join the challenge at Crafty Sprouts!
There were so many great ideas from such talented crafters!
The winner of my blog candy: an assorted goody bag and hand-dyed crinkle ribbon from 3 Girl JAM, is:
AmyJRockstar said... Wow! I can't believe those stamped phrases turned out so well on this! I love it! You are one cool mom! My favorite teacher (I had lots so I'll just give you one) was Mrs. Bettini, my Kindergarten TA. She got an award for being teacher of the year once!
Amy, please contact me with your mailing address so I can send out your goodies!
I am very excited to be a part of this hop with such wonderfully crafty people!
If you just happened to stop by my blog today (Thanks!), make sure you go back to Lisa's site to make sure you don't miss a thing!
Autumn is my absolute favorite time of the year! I love the cool air and all of the changing colors.
The beauty of nature will be all around us soon.
I've been inspired by all of the awesome wreaths I've seen others making lately so I had to make my own to celebrate my favorite season.
This was made entirely from the DCWV Harvest stack. If you are a fan of Autumn- you must get this paper. It's beautiful.
The bottom layer large paper cones are 6" squares rolled into a cone shape and hot glued onto a cardboard wreath shape.
The next layer is made with 4.5" squares rolled into cones and hot glued on to the bottom layer.
All the flowers were cut with the Cricut Flower Shoppe cartridge.
I wrapped some Hand Dyed Crinkle Ribbon throughout the wreath and tied it into a little bow.
One lucky follower will receive the Harvest Bundle, Winter Bundle, and Spooky Bundle of Crinkle Ribbon from 3 Girl Jam.
For extra chances to win- follow 3 Girl JAM and like them on facebook.
Join me tomorrow for the First Day of Autumn Blog Hop.
I've got an awesome project that I can't wait to show you.
Have you ever been so excited about a project that you couldn't wait to get started on it? Have you ever done a project that went together so smoothly and easily it was almost like it was just going together on it's own!?!
Frosted Designs has a challenge going on right now to use Punches on your project.
I don't have a lot of punches, but I learned a fun technique to make flowers with a circle punch!
I used a 1.5" circle punch (you could use a smaller one if you want to!).
Punch out 7 circles.
1 circle is the base of the flower. Fold the edges of the other 6 circles to form points. Line up the center points and put the pieces together like a pizza. :)
It's best to use double sided paper since you will see both sides.
I also used a punch for the leaves.
The crinkle ribbon (Mistletoe) is from my new store 3 Girl JAM.
Paper Cutz has a fun challenge going on right now:
Challenge #109 is "Caution - Ghost Crossing!" Make a card, LO or craft project for Halloween using Cricut cut, hand stamped, or digital stamped ghosts, and the colors black, white, purple and orange ONLY!
This is my first Halloween card of the season (my first one ever for that matter!). :)
The cute ghost stamp and the sentiment are both stamps from the dollar bin at Michaels. The paper is We R Memory Keepers. The cinkle ribbon (Witches Brew) is from my new store 3 Girl JAM.
I spent the weekend at Scrapfest at the Mall of America (in Minnesota) and had a ton of fun!
My awesome husband went with me. He endured long lines, lots of walking, countless trips to Archivers, and my ohhs and awes when I would spot well know crafters (he pretended to know who Tim Holtz and Teresa Collins were- even though I knew he had no clue!).
He carried all my shopping bags and kept my place in line when I would have to "run back and grab one more thing". That man spent 14 hours in a mall with me on Saturday-- I can't believe I spent 14 hours in a mall! My husband is NOT crafty- but he supports my addiction hobby 100%.
Our 11 year Wedding Anniversay is in December (we've been together for 16 years!) and he has been and forever will be my best friend!
I used the Cricut Elegant Edges for all of the shapes and scallops. The image is the digi Kissy Kissy from Greeting Farm. The ribbon is Ice Blue crinkle ribbon from my new store- 3 Girl JAM. The sentiment is Crafty Sprouts Besties for Life.
My friend Erika at Crafty Sprouts is having a sketch challenge and a celebration of her new stamp releases.
Her stamps are fantastic- the sentiments are awesome, funny, unlike any other- but most importantly the stamps stamp wonderfully!!
Welcome to the 50 States Blog Hop! Most of us would love to travel but are having staycations this year. What better way to travel but through a blog hop. This hop was inspired by our host Shawnee's journey across the United States as she traveled with her family to their new home. The United States is truly beautiful with many wonderful places to visit and see.
If you've hopped along from *Texas*, then you are in the right place!! If you are just joining me from your dashboard or happened along from somewhere else, please be sure to CLICK HERE to start with the first state in the union, Delaware, because you won't want to miss out on any of the fun (or any of the blog candy!!)...
There is an AMAZING Grand Prize Package for one LUCKY hopper (winner chosen by Rafflecopter)!! To be entered to win, please do the following:
Visit each state and leave a comment on each project (simply follow the links provided below)
The awesome thing about all of these places is- they're all within a 1 to 2 hour drive from my home!
During the Summer and Fall months of Iowa, the countryside is filled with Corn- unfortunately it is not all the good tasting corn (Sweet Corn), but mostly Field Corn (for animal feed and other resources).
Here's a funny little song about traveling across Iowa (during the corn season) and what you will see during your trip. LOL!
Today my kids had a teacher in-service and early dismissal from school- so-- I got to leave early from work and come home to......
This is my very first Easel Card. It was very surprisingly easy to make. I guess I never tried one before because I thought it would be too time consuming or difficult (or some other excuse!)
There are so many tutorials out there on how to make an Easel Card. If you haven't tried one- there's no better time than right now!
The paper is all from My Mind's Eye
The music notes are cut at 3" from Cricut Lite Twinkle Toes and "Play" is cut at 2" from Live Simply.
The Crinkle Ribbon and Button is from my brand new store at 3 Girl JAM.
I was asked to make a shape card to tie into her "Get in Shape" Challenge that's going on right now.
You still have time to make one yourself....
What are you waiting for... WAIT-
Finish reading (you can make your card when you're done. LOL!)

My daughters still have the first Teddy Bears they ever received (when they were born 10 years ago).
Peach Bear and Tan Bear (original names huh!?!)
Here is my favorite Teddy Bear- Tenderheart Care Bear (from when I was a kid)
Here is my project in honor of national Teddy Bear Day.

Crinkle Ribbon: 3 Girl JAM "Baby Bundle"
A little candy for one lucky follower:
Just leave a comment below and tell me the name of your favorite Teddy Bear!
Random.org will choose a winner on Monday!
My new Crafty Sprouts- "Besties for Life" stamp set came.
(You can but them Here.)
I've just got to say- it's Super Cute- from the packaging to the sayings- cute, cute, Cute!
So... I spent some time in my craft room today and made a few new projects, and finished up some others. I've got a few Blog Hops coming up (check out my right sidebar!), so you'll have to wait to see what I made for those!
Here's what I made today- that I will share.
This is an incredibly simple mini card.
It is a 3"x3" card.
I wrapped some crinkle ribbon around the pink layer and attached it to the black layer.
I stamped the "Fabulous Facebook Friend" sentiment and cut it out with a 1" circle punch. Then I put it in a bottlecap and attached it to the card.
I made the whole thing in less time than it took me to type up the "recipe".
