Halloween 2011- My Girlies

Hi Everyone!

Halloween 2011 is almost over.

So long are the days when my girlies dressed us as Princesses and Unicorns.

Or even Witches (Good and Evil)

This year the 10 year old girls dressed as Zomies and Vampires (or at least the Bride of Dracula!)
I was very impressed with how the girls made their own costumes this year!  Mackenzie made her own skirt and veil (I helped with the flowers and the flowers on her shirt).  Avery cut up her clothes and helped with the blood stains.  If you did not know- Fire Brick Red Distress re-inker and Alcohol Ink in Ginger, make very realistic looking blood stains!  (Just in case you need to make blood stains- YUCK!)
Her serious (and evil vampiress side)
Freaky!

No more candy for me tonight!  I'm headed for a total sugar coma any minute!

It's all about Catitude Blog Hop

Hi Everyone!

Welcome to the It's All About Catitude Blog Hop!!

If you happened to just drop by today (Thank you!), make sure you stop by  Barbara's blog at http://barbarab3.blogspot.com/ to start the Hop from the beginning!

I love my cats- all 3 of them.

Here is Odin (tan), Freya (calico), and Cleo (black).

I don't really have a favorite...
Okay- maybe I do.... What can I say- she likes to craft with me!

The purpose of today's Hop is to celebrate National Cat Day and recognize our Fabulous Feline Friends!

Odin and Freya were farm kitties (who probably wouldn't have made it very long if I hadn't adopted them) and Cleo was adopted from a local animal shelter.

This image reminds me of Odin.
I have had him since he was 6 weeks old.  He is almost 14 years old!
I've had Freya since she was 8 weeks old- her and Odin are litter mates!
Miss Cleo is 1 year old.  I have had her since she was 8 weeks old.

One lucky follower will win some blog candy!!
(Which will be an assortment of Bling!)
All you have to do is tell me what you have for a pet
and what it's name is!

Random.org will choose a winner who will be announced on Monday!
Make sure you check out Barbara's blog- she has an awesome Grand Prize!!

Your next stop is Lynda!

Thanks for stopping by!

Crafty Sprouts Halloween Week

Hi Everyone!

My good friend Erika from Crafty Sprouts, is hosting a fabulous Halloween week over on her blog.
Her wonderful Design Team and some pretty cool Guest Designers have been rockin' out the 10/31 projects since Monday.

Today is my day to Guest Design for Crafty Sprouts- So.......
I made a cutsie card inspired by my 10 year old Spooks!
Since my Ghouls have been little, they've dressed up as princesses, unicorns, puppy dogs, and witches (cute ones!)-- all cuties costumes.

This year however, one wants to be a Vampire and the other wants to be a Zombie!!

Crazy!

The sentiment is from Crafty Sprouts: Besties for Life.
I love how this stamp set can be used for almost anything- it's so versatile!
You can buy this set HERE!
The stamped images are all from the $1.00 bin at Michael's (so stinkin' cute!)
All the paper is from the DCWV Ghosts and Goblins Stack.

Make sure you check out all of the Totally Witchin' projects from the Gang at Crafty Sprouts!

I have the Giggles now!

Hi Everyone!

I have a quick birthday card to share with you today!

Mustaches make me laugh- I don't know why, but they do!
Monocles make me laugh too (more than mustaches actually!).

This fab 'stache is from the Lite Billionare Cartridge.
The Monocle (haha!) is a keychain ring!

Here's looking at You (but only with one eye!).

More Halloween!

Hi Everyone!!

My knee is doing much better (not completely better- but better than before!).
I was able to spend some time in my craft room today- uninterrupted time (the best kind!).

I got to play around with some new cartridges I just got in the mail today!  I made a few projects, but just need to finish them before I can post.  :)

Here's what I can show you:

Halloween is still on the brain!

Since I had a lot of sitting on my butt with my knee propped up  down time this week, I got to spend some time looking through Cricut handbooks.
I found this cool Halloween scene cut on
the Cricut Lite Cupcake Wrappers Cartridge.
Can you believe it!?!

What a week!!

Hi Everyone!

I have had a week that I'd like to forget!
Saturday night my right knee started to hurt.  I'm not sure what I did to it, but I know that it just didn't feel right.  All day Sunday, I participated in my first Craft/Vendor show.  It was such a disappointment and had such a small turnout (lots of vendors- just no customers).  By Sunday evening my knee hurt so bad that I was a total grouch!
Monday I was miserable.  I did however spend a little time in the craft room (I thought it would make me feel better- and it did!).
We are getting ready for Halloween in our household- so that is what is on my brain lately.
I made a quick tag before I had to go ice my knee.

Tuesday I went to the Doctor and she said it looked like I dislocated my kneecap, so Wednesday I went to another Doctor to have them "pop" it back into place.  PAIN!  However, I could walk out of the Dr office- so that was a good thing.  I went to work on Thursday for a few hours and have to work all day on Friday.  All I can say is- Thank goodness the weekend is almost here.
I need to get out of pain and into my craft room.
I'm having serious withdrawls!!

See you soon!
Thanks for stopping by!

Cricut Flower Shoppe Poinsettia

Hi Everyone!

I've said it once, but I'll say it again.

I LOVE the Cricut Flower Shoppe Cartridge!!

I recently made a Poinsettia using this cartridge.

Here's how I did it:

I used this page.
Cut the 4 pointed layer at 3", 2.5", and 2".
Cut the spiral layer at 2".
I also cut some leaves at 2" from the back of the booklet.

Just off the mat, the layers look like this:

I find it easier to ink the layers and curl or crumple them before putting it all together.

After inking and crumpling:

After putting the flower all together, I put some Stickles in the center and spritzed it with some Glimmer Mist!

So much fun!!

Happy Birthday Grandma!

Hi Everyone!

This weekend is my husband's Grandmother's 90th Birthday.  She is having a huge party and we are so excited to go!!

I made a very quick and easy birthday card for her.

I used the DCWV Green Tea Stack and trimmed the flower page.
I distressed the edges and adhered it on to another page from the same stack.
I stamped the sentiment and tied it all up in a bow made with crinkle ribbon from 3 Girl JAM.

Happy Birthday Grandma Evelyn!!

This card fits in nicely with the challenge at Birthday Sundaes this week.

A Quick Tip

Hi Everyone!

I wanted to share a quick tip and one of my favorite things!

What do you do with these you ask?

You make anything/everything shine!

I like to go over inked sentiments to "fake emboss" like this:

Try it- you'll like it!
