Getting Cricky Simply Sunday!

Check out my Giveaway going on HERE!

Hi Everyone!  Today is my first post as a Getting Cricky with K Andrew Design Team Member!!
Today's Simply Sunday challenge is "Pennants and Banners".  I am so excited to be a part of this fabulous team- and I'm so excited for YOU to see all of the wonderful projects my fellow DT Members have created!

Today is my Niece's high School graduation party, so I wanted to make her something special.  My other Niece graduates in 2 weeks.  I made them both similar things (they'll never know!).

This was my first attempt at a mini album- simply decorated as to not distract from the 2011.
I used my Gypsy to create each layer and weld shapes (George) and numbers (Plantian Schoolbook).  My fantabulous E2 cut each layer 4 times out of heavy cardstock, and then I glued and shadow layered them all together.
The banner is from the Celebrations cartridge.
I wrote a little note to both of them on one of the layers and let each of my girls write a note also.  They were happy to be a part of this creation.

Please make sure you go visit the Getting Cricky site and give Miss Kristal and the new Design Team some love.  Also, make sure you link your project and go visit and make some new friends!

Thanks for stopping by.

A Thing of Beauty

Please check out my Giveaway going on!

Thank you to my friend Dina at Crazy For Cricut for this award!  Please go visit her and give her some love (and while you're there- grab her cute Button for your blog!).

For this award, I am to tell 5 things about myself.
1. I bought my first Cricut in October 2010, and now have 4 of them!!
2.  I started my blog in Feb 2011 because I thought it would be fun to enter some challenges and now it has taken on a life of it's own.  LOL!
3.  I have turned (most of) my basement into a craft room-  240 sq ft of space and already running out of room.
4.  I  am seriously addicted to paper!  Is there a 12 cut step program for that!?!
5.  I was very recently honored to be named to the Getting Cricky with K Andrew Design Team- we're starting weekly challenges (starting this Sunday) so come check us out!! (And stop by each of the ladies' blogs and say hello- you can find their blog links on my right sidebar.) ------------->

I have been honored with this award once before and it is so hard for me to choose people to pass it on to.  I'd like to share it with all of you again (since I've had some new people stop by to visit)!  So please forgive me for breaking the rules- again.  I'm kind of a rebel like that!  :)

I'd also love it if you would take a minute to vote for my project in the Craftiest Mom's contest.

Exciting News- and a Giveaway!!

Hi Everyone!
My exciting news is......
I was chosen to be a part of the new Getting Cricky with K Andrew Design Team!!
I am truly honored to be a part of something that is so inspiring to me and many others.  Thank you Kristal, Brenda, and Kathy for having me- and I can't wait to "meet" my fellow DT members!!

I was working on this post (and had no idea) when I got the news (above)- so I had to edit!
Now for the Giveaway!!
I received a new Campin' Critters cartridge from Kristal Andrew the other day.  Miss K. picked my project as the winner of her Simply Sunday- Let's get Campy challenge!
I was so excited to win, because I just adore Kristal and love her blog so much!!

My only problem with winning the Campin' Critters cartridge--
--I already have it!
Here's my project that won.

Now for the fun part....

I am "re-gifting" the cartridge that I won, and want to pass it on to someone else who loves Kristal and her blog as much as I do!

Here's what you have to do.....
You don't have to be a follower of mine (but I'd love it if you were).
You DO have to be a follower of Getting Cricky with K Andrew, AND you need to have her blinkie on your side bar.
Please leave a comment below and tell me the name of your favorite blog (a link to it would be awesome- then we can all check them out).
For extra chances-
Post about my giveaway on your blog (and leave another comment).
For an extra, extra chance-  :)
Post my button on your side bar- and tell me you did.

I'll pick a winner- with the help of my friend Random.org-
on June 5th.

Thanks for stopping by!  Happy Camping!

Stealing Mom's Blog

Hi! I'm Avery, and I'm stealing my mom's blog.
Our basement started off as a storage room, then a big blanket fort for me and my sister, and then my mom bought us each a Cricut and we didn't want to keep them on the kitchen table so we turned the big blanket fort into a crafty fort!
My mom spent 2 hours cleaning the craft room today and as soon as she was done, I went right down there and messified it up!

I made this birdie in the cage card.
So here's how I made it:
I used my baby bug.  My mat was disgusting so I used my sisters mat (she's good for something)!
The frame is from Cricut Lite Live Simply cartridge.
The bird and cage are from Cricut Lite Chore Chart.  Yea!! I was the first one in my family to use THIS cartridge.  I LOVE GOOGLEY EYES!!!
Then I touched it up with some do dads and stamps and snapped a picture so I could show the world! my mom.

  Thanks for looking!

This was an honor to do this!  Thanks Mom!
Peace-out  I'm tired.

A busy week and Awards!

Hi Everyone!
What a busy week!  It's Monday night and I feel like I missed the weekend all together!
Last week was a crazy busy week at work.  I normally have Sat- Mon off, but last week I was helping with a class and worked Mon-Thur.  It was a great class (teaching about food safety and HACCP Principles), but since it was a "hands on" training, we put in a lot of hours!  49 hours in 4 days (plus I had to work 6 hours on Sat. for a total of 55 hrs.!)-- just not what I am used to.
I also was involved in 2 blog hops this past weekend.  Blog hops are so much fun!!  Thank you to Jen and Bella for asking me to play along!
I want to thank everyone who stopped by and I want to welcome all of the new followers to my blog!
If you're new, please take a look at the left side bar and go check out my friends.  I will be updating my sidebar in the next day or two and switching out some buttons (not because I don't think you're awesome- but because I want to make it new and exciting and give everyone a chance to see their buttons displayed!).
I have some wonderful ladies that I need to recognize and thank for passing the Versatile Blogger and Cricut-tastic Awards on to me.

Tiffany from Sparkled Memories
Amy from Love to Crop
Please go visit these crafty chicks and give them some much deserved love!

Here are the rules for the Cricut-tastic Award:

Your blog has been deemed Cricut-tastic. Wear this badge proudly on your blog and share it with friends. Share this award with 10 people that you think have Cricut-tastic blogs. You also have to tell 5 cricut related things about yourself.

The 5 Cricut things are:
1.  I bought my first Cricut (an Expression) in September 2010.  Since then, I have bought a Gypsy, each of my  girls a Baby Bug, and recently I purchased the E2!
2.  If I could play on the Cricut all day long I would.  I am trying to come up with a job that I can play at all day (and still make the amount of money that I currently do).  If anyone has any ideas- please let me know.  :)
3.  I am a bargin shopper and will not pay full price for anything.   I'm happy even if I save $1.00.  I scrounged around the internet to find a coupon code for HSN when I bought the E2.  (I saved $10.00 and got $10.47 cash back through Ebates).
4.  I am happy that my daughters love to craft as much as I do!
5.  I started my blog in Feb. 2011 and am in awe everyday at the awesomeness of everyone out here!  You all inspire me daily!

I am going to cheat and just pass this award on to everyone.  You all deserve it!

Thanks for stopping by!

I Love my Mom

I made a special card for my Mom for Mother's Day.
I credit my mother for my love of all things crafty.  My Mom can do just about anything and I have always admired her for that!  No joke- she can do almost everything, and if there happens to be  something that she doesn't know how to do- she takes it as an opportunity to learn something new.
My Mother is a phenomenal seamstress- she is "sew" fabulous!  This is one quality that I never truly appreciated about her when I was young.  I wish I had learned this skill when she tried to teach me years ago.  She has a sewing machine that she wants to give me- so I may use it as an opportunity to learn something new.  :)

I used the Nifty Fifties cartridge for the image and DCWV  "All About Girls" stack for the background paper.

I am submitting this to Getting Kricky With K Andrews Simply Sunday Challenge: Sew Fabulous.

Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful Mommies out there.  I hope your day has been fantastic!

After one bite, both girls (and Dad) were on the bed handing me cards and gifts!  I'm so lucky to have such beautiful kids and such a wonderful husband who love me so much!

Here is Avery's card she made.

Hi Everyone!!
Welcome to the Teacher Appreciation Blog Hop, hosted by my friend Jen, from Jen's Craft Corner.

Teachers are awesome!  Whether you Home School or send your kids to Public or Private school, there is no other profession that I have as much respect for as I do for Teachers.
This is a school year of "Firsts" for my twin girls.  The first year in a new school, the first year of switching classrooms and having different teachers for different subjects, and the first year (for one D) to have a "boy" for a teacher!!
Mackenzie helped with the next one for her teacher!

Look what I've got--- some Blog Candy for one lucky follower!!

Just leave a comment below and I'll choose (Random.org) and announce the winner on Monday!

Thanks for joining us today at the Teacher Appreciation Blog Hop.

We think of Hannah Montana!!

In case you get lost.....

First Attempt

Hi Everyone!

I tried something new today- Heat Embossing!
It's a little trickier than I thought it would be.  I guess the people who make the tutorial videos for heat embossing make the videos for people like me (clueless at embossing!)

It took me a few times to get it to look decent (I burnt it twice!), but this one turned out pretty good.

Heat embossing is pretty fun.  I can't wait to practice more and get better at it!!

Stop by tomorrow- I'm in 2 different Blog Hops!

Wal-Mart Haul

I had to go to Wal-Mart today and had no intention of going near the craft area- which I didn't.  The reason I didn't go near the craft area was because the entire craft area (or what was left of it) was in the clearance isle!!  Everything was 50-75% off!
I spent $100.00-- but look what I got!!

I was so excited!!

Speaking of excitement--- my E2 should be here tomorrow!!
Wa-hoo!!!!

Thanks for stopping by!
