Stamping with Markers on Wood

Hi Everyone!

This week is all about using your favorite pattern over at Pink by Design.

My favorite pattern- the one I reach for the most- is Chevron.
:0)

Patterned paper is fun, but sometimes you just have to stamp your pattern.
And stamping on paper is always fun, but sometimes it's good to shake things up a bit!

Today I have a little tip and tutorial for you on how to stamp with markers on wood.

First you'll want to prime your wood.  Make sure to coat it with something so your ink will not run and bleed into the wood.  I chose to use Creative Inspiration Paint for my base.  (I love this paint!)

Once it's all painted: admire the beauty while it dries :)

When you are ready to stamp, place  your stamp on a solid surface. (I used an acrylic block.)
Then ink up your stamp.  You can use any type of ink.  I wanted a muted and almost distressed look to go along with the antiqued look of my wooden tag so I used Spectrum Noir Markers.  I just started using them and they are my FAVORITE!  My poor Copics looked on with envy.

As soon as your stamp is inked up, place your wood piece on top of your stamp and apply pressure by rubbing over the surface of the wood.

Flip it over to see whatcha got!

Exactly what I was going for!

Here is my finished project:
